Grammy: Portable drags Davido for giving him 'bad advice'

In a recent turn of events, Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, also known as Portable, has taken to social media to express his disappointment in fellow artist Davido for allegedly giving him ‘bad advice’ during a dinner in the United States.

Portable, best known for his hit song ‘Zazu’, revealed that Davido, who is signed to Sony Music, advised him against joining the label and instead suggested that he sign with Empire. The singer accused Davido of misleading him, claiming that he too aspires to win a Grammy but feels that joining Empire may not help him achieve that goal.

During an Instagram Live session, Portable shared his frustrations, saying, “You are signed to Sony Music, but you’re giving me bad advice in America to get signed to Empire and collect advance. The same Grammy you’re chasing is what I’m also chasing.”

The outspoken artist emphasized the importance of having genuine helpers who would support him without hesitation, rather than giving him misleading advice based on rumors and hearsay.

Portable went on to praise other artists who have supported him in the past, such as Olamide and Skepta, who have provided him with valuable opportunities and connections in the music industry. He expressed his desire for more assistance from individuals who are willing to genuinely support his career growth.

The controversy surrounding Davido and Portable’s interaction has sparked discussions among fans and industry insiders, with many speculating about the true intentions behind Davido’s advice to his fellow artist.
