Neon Spring Inspiration

Neon, meet bohemian. The unlikely pairing totally comes to life in today’s styled wedding shoot from Danielle Poff and her photography workshop! For every event, Danielle puts together a team of experts to create a look for workshop participants to photograph. This come after a day full of training and discussing all things weddings with the gal who’s done it all. So cool, right?! Morgan of Spreading Lovely is the creative genius behind this colorful shoot and she filled us in on the vision:

When dreaming up the theme for the shoot, we wanted to ensure we had color, color and more color. Inspired by the bright and modern elements, we decided to do our own take on a neon themed wedding by mixing the vintage ruins of Ravenswood Estate with contemporary neon pops of yellow, pink, green and orange. Tassels were a secondary accent, incorporated on the invitations, pillows, napkins and bridal bouquet, to add a fun, boho hint. Why can’t you have an insanely fun color palette while still keeping the overall design modern and polished? We hope brides will take away an understanding that the sky is the limit when it comes to designing the wedding, and there are endless options to mix unconventional color palettes with different spaces.

Let’s jump into the inspiration with images from Danielle Poff Photography!

Paper goods are the perfect opportunity to set the design standard for the day and Bower Atelier created this ultra bright letterpress invitations with neon edges to set the tone.

Okay, let’s talk about her HAIR! Loving this twist on the braided crown by Malyssa House of CabeloBay Area Beautiful gave the bride her fresh make-up, and that ring? It’s by Esqueleto. So pretty!

The neon totally pops in blooms by Freckled Floral! Love how that backdrop looks like a floating bougainvillea bush!

By adding floral installations and simplistic decor elements, we didn’t want to edge on being kitschy but rather show how neon can be used for all kinds of weddings. Bringing in color to the ceremony, our bride wore a beautiful marigold skirt by Sweet Caroline Styles, and the aisle was set between with couches for an intimate ceremony feel.

Rather than traditional chairs, the team turned to Pieces By Violet to line the alter with modern couches which they adorned with bright pillows to mix refinement with fun touches.

What a setting! These plates + glasses from Anthropologie, the mirrored CB2 flatware, and those colors! Would be such a fun summer dinner party look!
