Donald Trump’s Favorite McDonald’s Meal Packs a Caloric Punch

Donald Trump's Go-To McDonald's Order Comes With A Lot Of Calories

Few figures are as synonymous with the golden arches in the world of fast food as former President Donald Trump. Known for his unapologetic love of fast food, Trump’s culinary habits have drawn both attention and concern, especially among health experts. His daily diet often raises eyebrows, particularly due to his penchant for skipping breakfast and indulging in calorie-laden dinners.

During his presidency, Trump famously treated the Clemson University football team to a feast featuring items from McDonald’s, Burger King, and Wendy’s, showcasing his fondness for these fast-food giants. However, it seems that McDonald’s holds a special place in his heart. His signature meal, which includes a staggering number of calories, could nearly meet the daily caloric needs of an average adult man.

Despite the caloric content of his meals, Trump remains unfazed. He has often expressed his belief that fast food is a safer choice, especially when he is traveling. “I’m a very clean person. I like cleanliness,” he told CNN in a 2016 interview. Trump argues that eating at fast food restaurants is preferable to dining at unknown establishments where the quality of food is uncertain. He emphasized the stringent quality control measures in place at these chains, stating, “One bad hamburger, you can destroy McDonald’s. One bad hamburger and you take Wendy’s and all these other places and they’re out of business.”

Trump’s affinity for fast food goes beyond mere taste; it also stems from a longstanding fear of food safety. In Michael Wolff’s book, “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House,” it was revealed that Trump has a fear of being poisoned. This concern is one reason he favors McDonald’s—where the food is pre-made and there’s less risk of unexpected surprises. Although Trump has reportedly lost weight in the lead-up to the 2024 election, he hasn’t abandoned his beloved McDonald’s.

Donald Trump likes to wash down several burgers with a milkshake

When it comes to his go-to order, Trump doesn’t hold back. According to Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law and former senior adviser, his favorite meal consists of a Big Mac and a Filet-O-Fish, accompanied by a side of French fries and a vanilla milkshake. This order was highlighted in Kushner’s 2022 memoir, “Breaking History.” However, accounts of Trump’s favorite McDonald’s meal do vary slightly among his former aides. In their book, “Let Trump Be Trump,” Corey Lewandowski and David Bossie claimed that Trump typically indulges in two of each burger and prefers chocolate malted shakes.

A recent Instagram post by Donald Trump Jr. provided further confirmation of his father’s fast-food preferences. The post featured a photo of Trump sharing a McDonald’s meal with notable figures like Elon Musk and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. aboard his private plane. In this instance, Trump opted for the classic Big Mac and Filet-O-Fish combo, paired with large fries and a small orange soda—skipping the milkshake this time around.

According to McDonald’s nutrition calculator, the meal Trump enjoyed on that occasion totaled a whopping 1,660 calories. If we include the 480 calories from the vanilla milkshake that Kushner mentioned, Trump’s typical McDonald’s order could skyrocket to a staggering 2,140 calories in one meal. This amount exceeds the recommended daily caloric intake for a sedentary man over the age of 60.

The implications of such a diet are significant, especially as Trump navigates his health and fitness journey in the public eye. While he may be shedding pounds in preparation for the upcoming election, the reality of his eating habits raises questions about the sustainability of such a lifestyle.

As Trump continues to embrace his love for fast food, it remains to be seen how this will impact his health and public perception as he campaigns for the presidency again. For now, his McDonald’s order remains a topic of fascination, highlighting the intersection of fast food culture and political life in America.
