Coachella 2026 Fashion Fails: The Looks That Missed the Mark

Coachella 2026 Weekend 1: All The Worst-Dressed Celebs

Coachella 2026 fashion is usually one of those things people look forward to almost as much as the music. Maybe even more, depending on who you ask. Every year, Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival turns into this mix of music, celebrity sightings, and outfits that are either unforgettable… or confusing for all the wrong reasons.

Weekend 1 this year had a bit of both. Some celebrities clearly showed up ready to make a statement, while others — well, it felt like they got dressed in a hurry or just didn’t care that much. And honestly, that contrast is part of what makes Coachella interesting. You never really know what you’re going to get.

When “Casual” Starts Feeling Too Casual

Let’s start with Kendall Jenner, because her look kind of set the tone for this whole conversation. She went for a very relaxed outfit — a white cropped tank, matching shorts, boots, sunglasses, and a backwards cap. Simple. Comfortable. Maybe a little too simple.

It’s not that it looked bad, exactly. It just didn’t feel like Coachella. When you’re one of the biggest supermodels in the world, people expect… something more. Even just a small twist, something intentional. Instead, it came off like she threw it on and walked out. Which, to be fair, might have been the point. Still, it left people underwhelmed.

Then there’s Emma Roberts, who somehow managed to make things feel even more confusing. She showed up in a black zip-up jacket with yellow silk shorts trimmed in lace. It’s an odd combination when you picture it, and honestly, it didn’t come together any better in real life.

There’s something about mixing cozy and dressy that can work — sometimes — but this didn’t quite land. It almost looked like she was heading to a sleepover rather than a festival. Maybe that sounds harsh, but it’s hard not to notice.

Madelyn Cline also leaned into the casual route, wearing a simple band tee and denim shorts. And okay, yes, Coachella can be hot and exhausting, so comfort matters. But still, this felt very… everyday. Like something you’d wear to run errands, not attend one of the most photographed events of the year.

Maybe she just didn’t feel like dressing up. That happens too.

Extra, But Maybe a Bit Too Much

On the opposite end, some celebrities clearly didn’t hold back — if anything, they might have added a little too much.

Paris Hilton, for example, went full Coachella fantasy with a Cowgirl Barbie-inspired outfit. Sequins, feathers, bold colors — the whole thing. And to be fair, that’s very on-brand for her. She’s never been one to play it safe.

But even with that in mind, the look felt overwhelming. Like there were too many ideas happening at once. It was fun, yes, but also a bit hard to focus on. Sometimes less really is more… though maybe that’s not the point at Coachella.

Then there’s Dixie D’Amelio, who went for a Y2K-inspired outfit with a bikini top, denim vest, and micro-shorts. It had an edgy feel, especially with the platform boots and accessories, but overall, it didn’t leave much of an impression.

It wasn’t terrible. Just… forgettable. Which might actually be worse at an event like this.

Heidi Klum, on the other hand, definitely made sure people noticed her — though maybe not in the way she intended. Her outfits over the weekend leaned heavily into bold, revealing territory, with wigs, lingerie-inspired pieces, and fishnet stockings.

And look, she’s known for taking risks, especially with costumes and fashion. But this felt a little messy. Not in a rebellious, cool way — more like things didn’t quite come together. The wig, in particular, seemed out of place, almost distracting.

Still, she looked like she was having fun, and maybe that counts for something.

The “It’s Not Bad… But It’s Not Great” Zone

And then there’s Joe Jonas, who landed somewhere in the middle. He showed up on stage in a very relaxed outfit — khaki shorts, a blue zip-up shirt, sneakers, and high socks.

It wasn’t bad. Not at all.

But it also didn’t stand out. Especially when you consider how bold and creative Coachella fashion usually is, his look felt… safe. Maybe even a little too safe. Some people joked it had “dad energy,” and honestly, it’s hard to argue with that.

But maybe that was intentional. Not every outfit needs to scream for attention.

Not Every Look Needs to Win

What makes Coachella interesting is that not everyone gets it right. And maybe that’s the point. Some people experiment and miss. Others play it safe and get overlooked. And a few manage to find that balance — though they’re not the focus here.

This year, it felt like there were more misses than usual. Or maybe expectations were just higher. It’s hard to say.

Still, there’s something kind of refreshing about it. Not every celebrity shows up perfectly styled, and honestly, that makes the whole thing feel a bit more real. Even if some of these outfits… probably should’ve stayed at home.
