The draw for the first round of the Carabao Cup will be shown live on skysports.com from Bangkok

The 2017/18 Carabao Cup first-round draw will be streamed live on skysports.com and on Facebook from Bangkok on Friday.

The 35 first-round ties will be drawn in Thailand, the home of the competition’s title sponsor, Carabao Energy Drink, and you can watch it live on the Sky Sports website from 1pm.

Last season’s competition saw plenty of shocks in the first round, including League Two Luton’s 3-1 victory over Aston Villa, Cambridge United’s extra-time victory over Sheffield Wednesday and Shrewsbury’s 2-1 win over Huddersfield.

Manchester United went on to win the competition at Wembley, beating Southampton 3-2 in February’s dramatic final.

Sky Sports will show a selection of live games from each round of this season’s Carabao Cup, and you can catch highlights from every clash on the Sky Sports website.

The draw has been regionalised to avoid long travelling time:

When will Premier League teams enter?

In the first round, all the clubs from League Two and League One will enter alongside 22 of the 24 Championship teams, with Hull City and Middlesbrough receiving byes to the second round.

In the second round, all Premier League clubs not involved in European competition enter. Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur all received byes to the third round due to their participation in the Champions League and Europa League

Key dates

Round one of the Carabao Cup will take place immediately after the season openers, with midweek slots on week commencing Monday, August 7.

The 2018 final is scheduled for Sunday, February 25.
